Roboguard SMS Alert 9 Plus Wiring

Post by Pierre_P »

Wiring the SMS Alert 9 Plus with the Roboguard HQ is easy.

Items used:
1 x Roboguard HQ
1 x Roboguard tele cable
1 x Sherlo 3.2Amp power supply
1 x 7 Amp 12V battery - backup power
1 x Sherlo 2 channel receiver
1 x 15W Siren
1 x 15cm DC plug or can use DC plug with screw terminals
1 x Sim card (remove security pin code first)

First set your HQ to mode 3 operation.
This is done as follows:
Switch off HQ and remove DC jack, see switch at bottom of HQ and slide to opposite side(newer models)
Once completely off, hold Status and Tamper buttons in and while holding them in use the switch or DC jack and repower the HQ.
A few beeps would be heard and then let go of the 2 buttons you are holding in, check then the zone lights 1 to 4 which is on, press 3 on HQ so that zone 3 light is on, press Tamper button, HQ will beep several times.
This mode is set for NC wiring and reporting zones 1 to 4 on HQ telecable.

Telecable wiring will then be:
White = Zone 1
Black = Zone 2
Red = Zone 3
Green = Zone 4
Blue = not used (only use this if you are using a separate Roboguard charger. Connect this blue wire to the SMS Alert Negative terminal)

Connect wiring as per pictures and diagram using the tele cable to inputs 1,2,4 and 5
Input 3 is coming from the Sherlo power supply connected on AC fail

The first user to send a sms as follows: 1234 b
This will add the first user, the yellow light will come on indicating a user is added and active
Add more users: 2nd = 1234 c or 3rd user = 1234 d

Siren is connected to Siren output

Do not send just any commands to SMS Alert unless you are familiar with them.
Changing settings will take many steps to figure out what has been changed.

You can change zone names - see page 5 in user manual renaming input strings

SMS to Arm system = 1234 c on
To disarm = 1234 c off

With the receiver connected you have arm/disarm and panic
Note the Arm/Disarm input is a POSITIVE input and the Panic is a NEGATIVE input

If you are not sure on this wiring when purchasing your SMS Alert system, we can pre wire this setup on request only.
