Programming and wiring SMX to DSC CID reporting

Post by Pierre_P »

How to wire the RDC - SMX transmitter (TX-SMX) to the DSC Alarm Panel plus, DSC Programming Steps

A) Wiring to Dialler board
- Connect TIP on the DSC alarm panel to the TIP input on the RDC – Contact ID transmitter
- Connect RING on the DSC alarm panel to the NEGATIVE on the RDC – Contact ID transmitter
- Install the CID Jumper (J17)
- Connect the power of the RDC - transmitter (all RDC transmitters) directly to the 12v7amp battery using a RDC – BTE7 battery extender board

B) Serial Connections
1. Plug the connector marked with blue from the SRL-DSC interface module into the serial port of the transmitter
2. Connect the black, yellow and green (or blue) wires from
the module to the DSC Power Series keybus connectors marked BLK, YEL and GRN
3. If correctly connected to the LED on the module will illuminate to indicate that keybus communications are being decoded.
Note: No programming of the DSC alarm panel is necessary to enable the SRL-DSC interface module as it is not supervised.

Method A
Is to send all Contact ID Events to the Message Recipients and is required if you wish to monitor the alarm panel activations etc.
